Local Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) Recipients

SVOG Recipients - NYSBDC Client Announcement
The U.S. Small Business  Administration (SBA) has awarded more than $7.5 billion dollars through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program to live venue operators, promoters, arts organizations, talent representatives, motion picture theater operators, museums, and theatrical producers.

Over 10,000 live entertainment venues, small businesses and not-for-profit agencies have received funding through this program out of nearly 15,500 SVOG applicants.

The Onondaga Small Business Development Center serves entrepreneurs and small business owners in Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego and Seneca counties in Upstate New York in many capacities. We are proud of all of our local SBDC clients, and we are especially proud of those local business who received funding through the Shuttered Venue Operator Grant (SVOG) program.

Center for the Arts of Homer (Cortland County)

Located in Downtown Homer, the Center for the Arts of Homer building was formerly the First Baptist Church of Homer - built in 1893. The Baptist congregation relocated in 2001 and the building was converted into a multi-use arts facility and performance venue by a core group of founders - neighbors and community members.

The Center for the Arts is well known for hosting everything from national music concerts, feature film screenings, community theater programs, to showcasing artwork by regional, national, and international visual artists in its art gallery. Their facilities are also available to other community organizations and individuals for a variety of educational purposes, events, and private functions.

Skaneateles Festival (Onondaga County)

The Skaneateles Festival is one of the Finger Lakes region's leading festivals that has been bringing world class music to the area for 40 years. Each year the Festival hosts a number of concerts during the month of August during which musicians from across the globe come to Skaneateles to perform. Every season brings new and returning musicians from a variety of genres including Classical, Jazz, and Bluegrass.

The Skaneateles Festival's mission is to be one of the nation's outstanding summer music festivals, set in the beauty of the Finger Lakes region. Skaneateles community-inspired, this Festival is recognized for its creative and dynamic concert performances, education, and community outreach. The Skaneateles Festival is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts.
