The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has awarded more than $7.5 billion dollars through the Shuttered Venue Operators Grant (SVOG) program to live venue operators, promoters, arts organizations, talent representatives, motion picture theater operators, museums, and theatrical producers. Over 10,000 live entertainment venues, small businesses and not-for-profit agencies have received funding through this program out of nearly 15,500 SVOG applicants. The Onondaga Small Business Development Center serves entrepreneurs and small business owners in Cayuga, Cortland, Madison, Onondaga, Oswego and Seneca counties in Upstate New York in many capacities. We are proud of all of our local SBDC clients, and we are especially proud of those local business who received funding through the Shuttered Venue Operator Grant (SVOG) program. Center for the Arts of Homer (Cortland County) Located in Downtown Homer, the Center for the Arts of Homer building was formerly the First Baptist Church of Homer - built in 1893. The Baptist congregation relocated in 2001 and the building was converted into a multi-use arts facility and performance venue by a core group of founders - neighbors and community members. The Center for the Arts is well known for hosting everything from national music concerts, feature film screenings, community theater programs, to showcasing artwork by regional, national, and international visual artists in its art gallery.
